Ed Botelho retired from auto mechanics after a serious
accident and moved from the sunny south to the small
village of Millbridge on the coast of Maine.
Once Ed was settled in to the quite way of life of a coastal fishing
community, he decided to try something completely different.
Etching was something he had only heard of but
at his father's urging, he decided to try it.
Ed has developed a process to etch and color marble that
is quite different from anything elsewhere.
He uses Guatemala Marble because of its light color and texture.
"Ed's Etchings" are all free hand and each is as uniquely
individual as the artist the made it.
Ed shows his art work at local craft fairs and has got
some very encouraging comments.
He is able to offer a complete range of etchings
including anything from portraits to car pictures.

EDWARD COSTA BOTELHO
March 19 1926 - October 19  2005
Ed's Father was a great influence in his son taking up this form of art.
Without his prompting it probably would never have happened.
Although his body was broken, his mind was very much alive.
A favorite saying of his was,
"THE ONLY DEFEET WE SHOULD EXCEPT IS
THE ONES BELOW DEANKLES"

The following are some examples of "Ed's Etchings".

Ed's a bit of a sportsman and likes to fish but he doesn't like stupid laws. He tells me that in Tennessee that there is a law on the books that states that "You are not allowed to bring a lariat fishing with you" so here is his Tennessee Fisherman and of course everyone needs a fishing partner.
Fishing is supposed to be fun, isn't it???
